The goal of the mathematics coach is to inspire teachers and students in the area of mathematics. To reach this goal, the mathematics coach implements the following practices:

• Collaborate with teachers and teams of teachers to design, implement, and reflect on instruction.

• Collaborate with staff in designing approaches to improve student achievement and instruction based on data.

• Facilitate teachers’ use of research-based strategies that promote equity, relevance, and innovation.

• Facilitate professional development on both mathematical content knowledge and pedagogy.

• Empower all students to both learn and love math.
